Importing technology into Mauritius requires careful navigation of local customs, taxation, and compliance laws to avoid costly delays.
Mauritius is highly favorable for tech imports. The majority of computers, servers, and telecom equipment enter duty-free. However, a standard 15% Value Added Tax (VAT) still applies.
Companies operating within the Mauritius Freeport or specific Cyber City schemes may be completely exempt from VAT and customs duties, provided strict compliance protocols are followed.
Importing tech into Mauritius is generally streamlined if you have the right local partner to interface with the MRA and ICTA. IOR Cloud Ltd. takes complete ownership of this process.
We act as your dedicated local Importer of Record, handling ICTA certifications and MRA tax declarations so your cargo clears seamlessly at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.
